Clayton Bruner is the Managing Principal of META Design. Clayton has been in the landscape architecture industry for over twenty-four years, working on a diverse range of projects. He will use his experience, technical, and creative knowledge and passion for landscape architecture to develop META Design into a prominent landscape architecture office. Clayton and META Design are dedicated to providing each client with a bespoke experience, shaping land into beautiful, timeless, and functional landscapes.
Collaboration is a key factor in determining the success of a project, building a foundation and that begins with the client and flows into the studio. Clayton and his office will collaborate closely with clients throughout the entirety of the design process to meet desired goals, budgets, and timelines.
Joe Ascolese brings a lifetime of experience to the META Design team, having grown up in the landscape industry. Joe received his Landscape Architecture degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Throughout his eight-year professional career, Joe has worked on a wide array of projects, including high-end residential, master plan communities, city drainage and transportation, hospitality, and commercial projects. Joe is passionate about a strong, collaborative relationship with his clients, prioritizing innovation, technical knowledge, creativity, and efficiency. With every landscape project he embarks on, Joe puts forth his utmost effort to creating stunning landscapes that endure the test of time and are a harmonious culmination of the needs of the natural environment and goals set forth by his clients. In his personal time, Joe enjoys spending time with his young family, culinary arts, golf, and spending time outdoors.
Zach Gwin brings six years of professional design experience to META Design. Zach offers an invaluable interdisciplinary perspective to every project, having worked in the urban planning, architecture, and landscape architecture fields. Zach’s recent work includes design, construction documentation, and permitting for the award-winning master planned community Bridgeland. He has also worked on recreational centers, streetscapes, corporate campuses, public pavilions, and many park projects for several other master planned communities, such as Jordan Ranch and Harvest Green. Zach has a passion for excellent play spaces that prioritize inclusivity to ensure a positive experience for all. A small-town Oklahoma native, Zach relocated to Houston in 2014 to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Rice University, and fell in love with the city. In his spare time, he enjoys model building, yoga, and competition reality shows.
